Our Mission Statement
To be a place where people meet, laugh, have fun, and escape the stresses of daily life through creative expression.
Formerly Uptown Art.
Uptown Art opened its doors in 2013 in downtown New Albany. With a committment to fun, customer service, and great instructors, we quickly gathered a loyal following in the Southern Indiana and Louisville Area. It was this following that allowed us to keep our doors open while so many small businesses closed during the 2020 - 2021 pandemic. Unfortunately, Uptown Art Corporate was not so lucky and closed in 2021. So in search of a new brand, we changed our name to “Viva Art”. Viva translates to “Hurray” or “Long Live”. Therefore Viva Art can mean “Hurray Art!” or “Long Live Art!”, both of which apply to how we feel about our studio, our customers, and art in general.
